Paris Day 3
Day 3 started out with the luxury of sleeping in. Our kids are early risers so rarely do we get to sleep past 6 or 6:30am. Today we rose at 8:30am and headed down for breakfast about an hour later.
We had been tossing up whether or not to take an open bus tour around Paris. We eventually decided that we should put our train pass to good use and not take the bus (much faster travel time). So off we went to St-Michael Notre-Dame and Sainte-Chapelle for our first couple of stops for the day.
Sainte-Chapelle is amazing with their stain glass windows. Unfortunately they are restoring some windows and we didn’t get the full effect. Still it was incredible.
We visited Notre-Dame cathedral while a mass was on so we got to experience the full thing. The cathedral is huge and really impressive.
On a different note probably the funniest thing we have seen while here, was when we were lining up to go up the Eiffel Tower. While waiting in line there are all these people trying to hawk their wares. At one point they all started running. Soon we saw two policemen on bikes riding casually through the area. Once the police disappeared all the people all appeared again. It was like a bunch of galahs that had been scared.
